Our Sustainable Solutions

Energy

Significant Energy Savings

Scanning just became more sustainable than ever before.

Saving power outside clinical hours

Gantry/couch, generator main circuit, CPU, and monitor power turned OFF when not in use.

If the console is turned OFF with the power supply mode set to the synchronized-switching mode, the power of the detector is automatically turned OFF.

Energy saving scanning

More energy-efficient scanning through PUREVISION Detector, Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE), SUREExposure 3D, Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction (AIDR 3D).

Reduced running costs

Reduce running costs with 5.0MHU tube while still providing high-quality images with less noise, thanks to noise reduction technologies such as AiCE* and AIDR 3D.

Compact look despite wide bore

In its segment, only Aquilion Serve has an 80-cm wide bore.

Its round face design maintains a compact look, in spite of the bore size. The overall sleek and efficient design has been awarded both a Good Design Award and an iF Award.

Optimizing hardware

The size of the keyboard and control panel has been optimized, which saves space for other peripheral equipment while providing the 27-inch monitor for easy viewing.

Aquilion Serve has two software touch panels, whereas previously patient positioning was carried out with buttons only.

Workflow

Our Advanced Workflow Solutions

With high staff and energy commitments, every second counts in medical imaging. AI-supported imaging solutions mean faster procedures and greater diagnostic confidence.

Aquilion Serve leverages AI and automation to create an efficient and eco-friendly workflow. By reducing hardware needs through software upgrades and simplifying system operations, it reduces workflow steps and saves scan planning time. Easy to use and easy to learn console operation optimizes staff allocation, reducing the burden on overworked personnel and improving work satisfaction. The system also enters power-saving mode automatically, reducing standby power consumption. Enhanced imaging quality and protocols enable more accurate diagnosis, while lower radiation doses and reduced contrast agent use further improve patient care and environmental impact.

  2. Based on an ALD evaluation of 240 3D Landmark scans (40 Head, 200 Body). Cases in which the relevant anatomic landmark(s) were not present (9) were excluded. 97% accuracy is based on results within +/- 1cm of target start, end, and FOV position, confirmed by two experienced CT Technologists.

Optimized Workflow for Energy and Resource Saving

Reduced burden on operators

Improvements in workflow contribute to reduction of the burden on overloaded staff members, better work satisfaction and at the same time it also support optimization and flexibility of technologist allocation.

Efficient access to diagnostic data

Features such as automatic hanging layouts and SURESubtraction integrated into the protocol eliminate the need for extra steps for scan reading.

Streamlining the Diagnostic Experience

Reduction of dose, less overscanning

A recent study shows the reduction of overall radiation dose and less overscanning with automatic scan planning.

Reduction of contrast agents

Iodine mapping SCT provides excellent visualization of the contrast enhanced region, which may contribute to the overall reduction of contrast agents.

Low dose lung exams

SilverBeam with AiCE can provide a low dose exam for lung screening.

Packaging / Logistics

Greener Transport, Distribution and Logistics

Canon Medical is striving to reduce the CO₂ emissions of product transportation through a modal shift from truck and air transportation to rail and ship transportation.

Introducing a new concept for equipment transportation, we have started using dedicated shipping containers, eco-friendly packaging material (biodegradable fibers, etc.) and only FSC certified wood.

We are focused on reducing the amount of packing materials used for transporting products by simplifying the packing process and decreasing the number of units for each system. Aquilion Serve's packaging is eco-friendly, using only 6% plastic. By reducing packaging materials for CT gantry covers by 30.4% and switching to steel frames for Japan transport, wood waste is minimized, enhancing sustainability.
