Energy

Significant Energy Savings

Our exclusive AI technology delivers high image quality even at low radiation doses and with reduced power consumption.

Canon’s Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) is trained specifically on the noise characteristics unique to CXDI. By using this pre-trained model, AiCE removes noise components from captured images while preserving important diagnostic information. This enables high-quality imaging at lower doses, supporting safer and more confident diagnoses. Low-dose imaging also offers the advantage of reducing power consumption compared to standard levels.

  • The lower the dose of radiation, the more effective AiCE is in reducing noise.
  • The signal noise is reduced compared with existing technologies.
  • Efficiency of signal noise removal is improved by up to 50%* while maintaining the level of signal strength required for imaging.

AiCE achieves up to 50% noise reduction. This enables high-quality imaging at lower doses which significantly reduces power consumption compared to standard levels.

AiCE technology expands the clinical possibilities for X-ray imaging into those which require lower doses, such as imaging in pediatric medicine.

Image
  • AiCE precisely identifies and removes only the noise component from the data.
  • In contrast to conventional noise reduction, AiCE improves clarity without affecting the signal component of the subject image.

Our advanced technologies support even higher image quality with lower radiation doses, using more efficient hardware and software solutions that require less energy.

* Intelligent NR belongs to Canon INC. When referring to this technology, Canon Medical Systems uses the brand name Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine.
Intelligent NR uses AI technology at the design stage of signal noise reduction processing. The product itself does not learn with AI from acquired images.

Minimize exposure time

A reduction in exposure time lowers energy consumption from the X-ray generation process. This can be achieved through Radrex i5’s Built-in Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) assistance system.

Built-in AEC Assistance (BiAA) allows for automatically terminated exposures without the use of additional receptors (iron chamber, solid state paddies etc.) This feature works via both wireless and wired communication.

By avoiding unnecessary doses, it becomes possible to lower radiation exposure for the patient.

In addition, our unique technology contributes to reducing unnecessary energy consumption.

Resource Saving Technology

Built-in Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) assistance provides better control over X-ray dose

Image

Our advanced technology contributes to solid dose stability and enables X-ray imaging under conditions previously unsuitable for AEC, such as skyline and axial views. Even imaging on stretchers can now be performed with the correct radiation dose.
It optimizes exposure time for patients when visual assessment is challenging (e.g. single lung, organ displacement, or when implants are present).

CXDI-Elite detectors deliver optimum image quality at minimum dose. Instant reproduction of imaging data, provides maximum information for minimum effort.

*Built-in AEC Assistance can be compatible with CXDI-Elite.
*In an environment with exceptionally strong radio interference, it may be recommended to use a wired rather than wireless connection.
*As with any AEC operation, appropriate exposure factors with reasonable backup time should be set.

Weight/Space

Real Resource Saving

Canon’s versatile, space-saving configurations support refit of existing sites, and provide more economical options for your clinical needs.

System Layout Examples (Ceiling system)

As each examination room has different dimensions, a combination of vertical and horizontal rails are required.

We offer product configurations with rails of varying lengths. This can reduce ceiling installation time and costs while minimizing a waste of resources.

Radrex i5 offers the high performance and clinical versatility needed to perform a wide range of examinations

Intelligent Camera Assist simplifies imaging

Canon’s new optical camera application is boosted by Advanced AI technologies. Features include flexible configurations and enhanced imaging capabilities.

Camera View

The video image from a camera attached to the collimator is displayed on the control software.

Protocol Selection Assist

Protocol Selection Assist is a function that compares consistency between protocols (body part, view position, laterality) and patient positioning.
An AI-driven Human Pose Estimation Model analyzes the patient's skeletal position to estimate the patient's pose.

Image

Improve Efficiency with Streamlined Workflow

Digital imaging systems require less maintenance than film or computed radiography (CR) cassettes, making them more environmentally friendly.

Total examination time is shortened, as images are processed and displayed instantaneously, which also reduces dose, because of eliminating repetitive exposures. In addition, images can edited, enhanced, and archived faster and more easily.

Recycling

Image

Leading with Recycling

Canon Medical actively collects and reuses parts in new products after old products have been used and discarded. In addition, for equipment collected for reuse of parts, we follow Canon Medical Systems’ recycling operation rules for residual materials after parts are collected.

In this way, we aim to reduce the environmental impact and increase the effectiveness of recycling.

Packaging / Logistics

Greening Transport, Distribution and Logistics

Canon Medical is striving to reduce the CO₂ emissions of product transportation through a modal shift from truck and air transportation to rail and ship transportation.
In addition, improved efficiency in logistics reduces CO₂ emissions during transit.

We are also focused on reducing the amount of packing materials used for transporting products by simplifying the packing process and decreasing the number of units for each system.

We have consistently improved our packaging efficiency while ensuring the safe delivery of products to our customers after shipment and local transportation. Introducing a new concept for equipment transportation, we have started using dedicated shipping containers, eco-friendly packaging material (biodegradable fibers, etc.) and only FSC certified wood.
