Vital Images, Inc., a Toshiba Medical Systems Group company, acquires Karos Health Incorporated Acceleration of healthcare informatics business

Ootawara, Tochigi, Nov 2nd, 2016 - Vital Images, Inc. (“Vital”), a group company of Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation, announced today that Vital has signed the definitive agreement to acquire Karos Health (“Karos”), an innovative global healthcare informatics company.

The acquisition allows Toshiba Medical to offer customers a robust imaging and informatics solution-set. The combined technologies provide a customer-centric, modular platform that allows hospital systems to solve a broad set of enterprise imaging challenges without requiring large-scale, disruptive PACS replacement of existing systems. Karos will build on its vast experience in enabling healthcare interoperability, while Vital will continue its market leadership in advanced visualization, diagnostic viewing and personalized medicine algorithms.
