May 16, 2019
Otawara, Japan; May 16, 2019 – Canon Medical Systems Corporation (Canon Medical) will present Deep Learning Reconstruction (DLR) technology at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) 2019 Annual meeting in Montreal, Vancouver. Canon’s DLR utilizes a Deep Convolutional Neural Network to intelligently identify and remove noise from MR images. The reconstructed images result in higher SNR thereby enabling increased anatomical detail and spatial resolution. DLR technology utilizes intelligent algorithms similar to AiCE (Advanced Intelligent IQ Clear Engine) technology used on Canon’s CT Aquilion Precision and Aquilion ONE GENESIS systems, and establishes Canon as a leader in the deep learning reconstruction space.
In addition, Canon Medical will showcase its new high gradient 3T MRI System targeted towards the MR research segment. With unique direct cooling technology delivering industry-leading peak gradient amplitude specifications of 100 mT/m at 200 T/m/s and the ability to simultaneously reach maximum gradient strength and slew rate, the system provides the highest whole-body MRI performance potential in the research market. Diffusion-weighted imaging in particular benefits from the high gradient specification of 100 mT/m, delivering anatomical detail enabling researchers to more accurately characterize morphologic and functional tissue integrity at the early stages of disease and produce quantitative results.
Canon Medical will exhibit and DLR technology at booth 917 during the ISMRM 2019, as well as present the latest clinical and research data from sites in Japan and Europe.
Disclaimer: DLR technology is not approved and is not available for sale; future availability cannot be guaranteed.
