SUPPORT FOR AFFECTED AREA BY THE TOHOKU EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI TOSHIBA PROVIDES COMPACT PORTABLE DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND SYSTEMS

Compact diagnostic ultrasound system Viamo™

Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation offered to provide 10 Viamo™, diagnostic ultrasound systems, to support reconstruction in affected area to the Japan Red Cross Society.

Right after the Tohoku earthquake on March 11th, 2011, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (Headquarters: Otawara, Tochigi, Japan; President: Satoshi Tsunakawa) set up an headquarters for earthquake, which is leaded by the president Tsunakawa. In order to provide maximum support to our customers, we have been responding to the changes in demand quickly.

Diagnostic ultrasound systems are used for various body regions, including the abdomen and cardiovascular system. They are particularly useful for diagnosing pulmonary embolism (economy class syndrome), which can affect people due to prolonged stays in evacuation centers.
Viamo™ is a compact portable diagnostic ultrasound system that provides high-resolution images. It can operate on household power source or built-in batteries.
