Toshiba manufactures milestone 500th Aquilion ONE system

Otawara, Japan, September 25, 2012 - Achieving a milestone in the advancement of computed tomography (CT) in the practice of diagnostic medicine, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation announced the production of the 500th Aquilion ONE™ system, which is to be installed at PRP Diagnostic Imaging at Norwest Private Hospital in Australia. Toshiba and PRP Diagnostic Imaging have developed a strong relationship over the years which will see the installation of the 6th Aquilion ONE system within the PRP network.

Aquilion ONE provides up to 16-cm coverage per gantry rotation and permits fast scanning with low dose. It also incorporates Toshiba's unique reconstruction technique, Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction 3D (AIDR 3D). The clinical usefulness of low-dose dynamic volume imaging, which can be performed only with the 320-row Aquilion ONE, is widely recognized.
