Toshiba Upgrades MR Interface for Streamlined Exams

M-Power Interface Adds New Automated Tools that Help Improve Patient Experience

CHICAGO, Dec. 2, 2013 - Healthcare providers are able to do more with less and improve patient care thanks to Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.'s enhanced M-Power™ user interface. Toshiba's M-Power interface simplifies MR scans by automatically guiding clinicians to complete exams accurately and efficiently. Combined with the large bore, quiet MR technology and advanced non-contrast techniques of Toshiba's MR systems, clinicians can offer an overall more comfortable and safer exam.

M-Power's PathFinder feature includes several new automated tools to save time and improve workflow efficiencies, including:

  • DirectPAS: Creates the exam protocols automatically by pulling the patient's information directly from Hospital Information System (HIS) or Radiology Information System (RIS) to the MR system. This reduces set up time as the system is ready to scan as soon as the patient arrives.
  • EasyTech: Standardizes the scanning procedure on difficult exams like cardiac, making exams repeatable and delivering consistent image quality.
  • InScan: Automates post-processing steps that are included in the protocols and gives clinicians post-processed results for review once the scan is completed.

"Toshiba's M-Power interface is designed for all levels of users and is easy to use, significantly improving productivity for all types of MR exams," said Beverly Plost, director, MR Business Unit, Toshiba. "With these enhancements, clinicians are guided through an entire scan automatically, reducing exam times and helping improve the patient experience."

Toshiba's enhanced M-Power interface is available on Toshiba's Vantage TitanTM 1.5T series and Vantage Titan 3T MR systems and will be showcased at this year's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Dec. 1-6, 2013 (Booth #7330, North Hall, B).
