Otawara, Japan, September 10, 2012 - In order to achieve further growth, Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (TMSC; headquarters: Otawara, Tochigi, Japan; President: Satoshi Tsunakawa) and TMSC Group company Toshiba Medical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TMM; headquarters: Otawara, Tochigi, Japan; President: Yoshio Taniguchi) have reached an agreement to integrate their production systems for medical equipment on October 1, 2012, to be followed by the merger of TMM into TMSC on April 1, 2013.

The TMSC Group has manufacturing sites in Japan and China and is a supplier of medical equipment such as diagnostic X-ray systems, CT systems, MRI systems, and diagnostic ultrasound systems in more than 120 countries around the world. TMM is involved in the design of diagnostic X-ray systems and the manufacture of a wide variety of parts and units based on its unique production engineering capabilities for provision to the TMSC Group.
The business environment has undergone many changes in recent years, and strengthening our production and engineering systems is an urgent task to ensure our future competitiveness.
