FIRST Technology Enhances Image Quality and Lowers Dose
CHICAGO, Nov. 30, 2015– Clinically viable model-based iterative reconstruction is now a reality with the launch of Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.'s Forward projected model-based Iterative Reconstruction SoluTion (FIRST) (pending 510(k) clearance). FIRST improves image quality with significant noise reduction while reducing radiation dose and drastically cuts the time needed for model-based CT image reconstruction, helping providers make critical diagnoses and treatment decisions more effectively.
Available for the Aquilion ONE™ Family of CT systems, FIRST improves high-contrast spatial resolution and helps to make exams safer for patients by providing reduction in dose, meaning customers don't need to choose between safety and high quality images.
“With FIRST, we saw a way to take industry-changing technology beyond the research setting and help our clinical partners use it to benefit their patients,” said Satrajit Misra, vice president, Marketing, Toshiba. “As we strive to provide best-in-class technology, FIRST is an integrated, fast and easy-to-use clinical solution that makes imaging safer while providing the very best in image quality.”
Toshiba will introduce FIRST at this year's Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, November 29 – December 4, 2015 (Booth #7336, North Hall).
