Canon Medical Advances Deep Learning Solutions in Healthcare with NVIDIA

April 16, 2018 - Canon Medical Systems Corporation (President: Toshio Takiguchi; Headquarters: Otawara, Tochigi, Japan) today announced an agreement with NVIDIA to co-develop and commercialize deep-learning research infrastructure in Japan for medical research institutions, such as university hospitals.

NVIDIA is a world leader in artificial intelligence, accelerating every deep learning framework, creating the world’s most advanced AI supercomputers, powering every cloud service and providing the highest performance in both training and inference. 

Canon Medical provides innovative IT solutions to healthcare professionals and institutions. In January 2018, Canon Medical launched Abierto VNA, a medical data management system, which integrates with NVIDIA DGX systems to provide deep learning training on large volumes of medical data. 

Canon Medical and NVIDIA’s joint solution will enable research driven by AI. These research breakthroughs are creating a future of deep learning applications that can be applied to medical imaging diagnostic systems.
