This patient presented with mid-lower back pain. A Spectral scan of the thoracic-lumber spine was performed for evaluation.
Spectral Analysis shows an acute compression fracture of T12.
Spectral bone marrow mapping shows increased density of the T12 marrow in the VNCa (virtual non calcium) image, which is associated with an acute fracture. An MRI scan was performed the T1WI and the Dixon's Water image confirmed the Spectral CT findings.
Deep Learning Spectral CT of the spine revealed a metastasis in this patient.
Spectral DLR delivers excellent energy separation whereby the iodine map clearly outlines the regions of iodine uptake. The quantification of iodine concentration can help facilitate a more accurate assessment between benign and malignant masses.
