Latest Diagnostic Imaging Technology Helps Pennsylvania Hospital Make Work Flow

When it came time for Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pa., to outfit its new emergency department, they needed the latest in diagnostic imaging technology to help them meet the requirements of their population. These systems needed to incorporate technology that puts information at doctors’ fingertips, making it easier for them to do their job, faster.

To increase the efficiency of X-ray procedures, a must for high-volume emergency departments, Jameson purchased Canon Medical Systems’ RADREX™-i Wireless digital radiographic (DR) X-ray system. The RADREX-i provides flexibility in system design, featuring a lightweight, cable-free, 14" x 17" panel that is easy to use and maneuver, enabling high quality imaging and exam efficiency.

Technologies such as RexView™ and RexSpeed allow technologists to review images from a patient’s bedside.

In addition, technologies such as RexView™ and RexSpeed allow technologists to review images from a patient’s bedside, keeping clinicians closer to patients who are often anxious or in pain.

In addition to its RADREX-i X-ray system, the facility also purchased Canon Medical Systems’ Aquilion™ Premium CT scanner, becoming the first facility in Pennsylvania with a 160-detector row CT system.

The system’s 160 detector rows image 8 cm of anatomy, breaking it out into 320 image slices*, all in a single rotation. With these capabilities, technologists at Jameson can now image patients efficiently, improving treatment speed and efficacy

With the addition of these two systems, Jameson Hospital opened its new emergency department with a technical leg up on nearby medical facilities, ready to meet the quickly-changing healthcare landscape.
