Acardiac twin

Acardiac twin is an extremely rare and complex fetal condition. One twin develops abnormally without a functioning heart, while the other twin's heart is developed normally. The "acardiac" twin, lacking its own circulatory system, receives blood supply and oxygen from the healthy "pump" twin through shared placental connections. This places a significant strain on the healthy twin's cardiovascular system, threatening its survival.
